jkca.me and its subdomains ("the site") are personal software and services operated by James KC Auchterlonie. By using the site, including any service served from a jkca.me subdomain, you agree to these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

No account, no warranty

The site does not offer public user accounts. Services are provided strictly on an "as is" and "as available" basis with no warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability. Use of any service is at your sole risk.

Scope of the services

The site links to independently distributed apps and hosts these server-backed surfaces:

handoff.jkca.me — one-time encrypted file handoff with automatic expiry.
meet.jkca.me — ad-hoc video meetings.
qr.jkca.me — stateless QR code generation; the site does not store what you enter.
short.jkca.me — short-link redirection.
sign.jkca.me — electronic document signing.
talk.jkca.me — Access-gated encrypted chat; the server relays ciphertext.

Electronic records and signatures

By using sign.jkca.me you consent, for purposes of the U.S. ESIGN Act, the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), and equivalent state laws, to conduct the transaction electronically and to receive records electronically. To access signed records you need a modern web browser and either a device display suitable for reading PDFs or a PDF reader. You may withdraw this consent at any time by not submitting a signature; withdrawing consent after signing does not invalidate prior signatures. Signed documents are retained for 24 hours; after that the site cannot furnish them again.

Your content

You retain ownership of anything you upload, short-link, draw as a signature, share over video, or write in a collaborative document. By submitting content you affirm you have the right to do so and that the content complies with the Acceptable Use Policy. The site stores content only as needed to operate each tool; retention windows are documented in the Privacy Notice.

Abuse and termination

Access is provided at the operator's discretion. Use that violates the Acceptable Use Policy, attempts to degrade availability for others, or probes for vulnerabilities outside a sanctioned disclosure path may be blocked without notice. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site. Aggregate liability for any claim is limited to USD $50. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of anything the site touches.

Changes

These Terms may change. Material changes will bump the revision number shown at the top of every legal page. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the operator's residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Exclusive venue lies in that state's courts.
